Yobe govt to build cargo airport in Damaturu

Yobe State Executive Council has approved the sum of N11,327,120,487,24 for the construction of an International Cargo Airport in Damaturu, the state capital.

The Works Commissioner,  Lawan Shettima Ali; Education Commissioner, Mohammed Lamin; and Surajo Wakil, Commissioner of Water Resources stated this after a meeting in Damaturu.

Lamin explained that the Cargo Airport would ease the sufferings of the people of North East sub-region.

Other projects approved by the Exco include: procurement of two Hiace buses and two 1.8 Toyota Corolla models “to meet the re-accreditation requirements of the College of Nursing and Midwifery and College of Health Science at the cost of N99,900.000.00″.

Procurement of two Toyota Lexus (Jeep) Japan model full-time leather seats as Staff Cars to His Excellency,  the Executive Governor at the cost of N156,000,000.00”.

Others included: procurement and provision of classrooms, offices,  staff quarters,  students hostels and dinning hall furniture for the five rehabilitated secondary schools in the state at the cost of N440,274,022.40.

Model Primary School,  Bayamari was approved to be converted to Command College of the Nigerian Army at the cost of N238,769,292.84, respectively.
