ESE Oruru who was abducted to Kano and forced to be converted to Islam and was later released after an aggressive media and Human Rights advocate has not only commended and expressed her deep appreciation to the Bayelsa state governor, Seriake Dickson, who stood behind her and played dominant role towards her freedom and safety and security at the police officers mess until she delivered and subsequent provision of accommodation, but thanked him the for promised scholarship to enable her complete her education.
She stated this while speaking to journalists in Yenagoa.
According to her, she remained ever grateful to the governor for matching his words with action and prayed for Solomon wisdom upon his life to continue to embark on policies and programmes that will positively endeared him to the his he had decided to carry their cross inspite of daunting challenges he has consistently vowed to surmount during his tenure as governor of the only homogeneous Ijaw state, the Jerusalem of the Ijaw people.
She however used the medium to remind and thanked the governor for promise he made concerning a scholarship to enable her continue her education after her safe delivery and after safe delivery of a baby girl she sought for and gained admission to a reputable school and the admission letter has since been submitted to the ministry of education seeking for candid approval, but regretably her parents had made several efforts throughout 2016 academic session but to no avail, hence she is passionately appalling to the state governor to come to her aid ” I know that he is a talk na-do – governor and he will never disappoint me and as someone who does not play politics with education ” she enthused.
In their separate interviews, the parents of Miss Ese Oruru, Mr and Mrs Charles Oruru have applauded the governor of Bayelsa state Seriake Dickson who stood stoutly behind the during the stress and trauma they went through when their daughter was abducted and taken to Kano for not only forceful marriage and conversion to Islam against her will, but also without the parents consent. They averred that the governor,s protection and provision right from their daughter, S freedom from her daughter ,S abductors and security at the police officers mess till was delivered of her baby girl at the government house clinic and consequently the accommodation provided them were highly appreciated.

They said they remain ever grateful for these gestures and used the opportunity to reiterate that their had gained admission to continue her studies and a letter accompanying the admission letter to her school of choice had been submitted to the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Bayelsa state, since 2016 and we are yet to get any feed back, hence we further passionately appealed for assistance.
They elated parents also used the forum to appreciate and commend the Nigeria Police for their proactive investigation, the Federation of Women Lawyers ( FIDA), the Right Activists, Religious bodies and the Media for their consistent and frontal advocates that led to the eventual release of their daughter.
They also used the forum to remind the Delta state governor , Dr Ifeanyi Okowa that during the visit of the Delta government delegation to Bayelsa state, the Delta state commissioner of Information and Chief of promised to assist since the parents are from Uwheru in Ugheli North, but unfortunately both government officials have not answered his call and therefore solicit the governor, S assistance.
