The former Governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda, has described Nigeria as a very difficult country, suggesting that the best way of growing the country is about teamwork.
Yuguda stated this while speaking with journalists when he arrived the state for the first time after leaving office in May 2015.
“All Nigerians must be part of the very strong arm of deepening democracy so that the rule of law can come to stay in Nigeria,” Yuguda said.
Hundreds of thousands of people thronged the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport in Bauchi to welcome the state immediate past governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, who has been on sojourn outside the country since he left power in May, 2015.
The former governor said that he was sick for over a year and has been on medical treatment abroad.
“I have been sick for a year and some few months receiving treatment, I would have give-up in the process but for God’s intervention, who destined that I have longer life. I have recovered and happily back home. I thank God and people who have been offering prayers for my recovery”, Yuguda said.
Yuguda explained that he was not in Bauchi for any political reason, but “I’m back home after recovery from an ailment to have pleasantries with brothers and sisters, as well as well-wishers in the community.”
On local politics, the former governor said that it was not yet time for politicking, as it is also not ripe time for electioneering which whistle, he said, might be blown in the next one year or so.
He called for prayers to Almighty God for state governments and Buhari-led Federal government to succeed in solving the numerous problems confronting the nation and Nigerians.
Yuguda, claimed that he still belong to everybody in the state, as everything about his life is still in Bauchi.
“Ordinarily, I should have come back immediately I came from my medical treatment abroad instead of Abuja where I stayed to recuperate more so that when you see me you will be happier.
“There is time for everything, God has ordained that today I will come to Bauchi, so I’m here today, I’m happy as I have seen how people have welcome me. I have to appreciate that while I was in office, people gave me every support I required”.
Yuguda further told journalists, “I left praying for you, praying for successes in your profession, as I always encourage you to be extremely ethical and professional in your noble profession of journalism”.
The former governor described journalism as a wonderful profession which everybody wants to belong, and urged the journalists to continue doing well for the blessings of the Almighty God.
