The political feud between All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, and its national leader, Bola Ahmed, has worsened with Oyegun saying his allegations are reckless and based on falsehood.
“The allegation from the media office of … Bola Tinubu against me is false and reckless” he disclosed in his open letter to Tinubu.
“This reckless and baseless corruption allegation levelled against me is unfortunate and an insult to my person and my hard-earned reputation which I have strongly maintained.
“Nobody has the kind of money that can buy my conscience or make me do injury to an innocent man. In all the primaries conducted under my watch as national chairman, I have strived to ensure a free, fair, transparent and credible process.
“The 2016 Ondo State APC governorship primary election was not an exception,”
Tinubu is said to have rejected being addressed as APC national leader. It was learnt
That the political tactician has ordered his followers to begin moves to abandon the APC for another party.
Tinubu, former Lagos State governor, accused Oyegun of corruption, rigging the theOndo governorship primary as well as overruling the vote of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) on the APC Governorship Primary Election Appeal Committee Report.
But Former Chairman of the Science and TechnologyCoomittee in the House of Representatives, OladeleKosoko, who represented Badagry Federal Constituency, said there is no cause for alarm as neither Tinubu nor Oyegun can abandon the APC they took much pain to build.
Kosoko told TheNichethat “some say what is happening between … Tinubu and … Oyegun will bring the party to disrepute but that is not true.
“They have taken their time, energy and all that it takes to build the party and cannot abandon it. They will not allow the party they built to collapse. No they will not.
“Don’t forget Tinubu is a political strategist. What is happening cannot snowball into something else that will affect the party negatively. It will soon be resolved, I can tell you.”
