Women with cryptic pregnancy can be treated with herbs – Adebayo

A trado-medical practitioner, Adeyinka Adebayo, has said that women with cryptic pregnancy can be treated.

He said that “a cryptic pregnancy is a condition where there is little or no detectable HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotrapin) in the mother’s system. The foetus may go undetected by mother and doctors, until delivery.”

He said that many people, including medical practitioners don’t seem to recognise the existence of such pregnancy, because among pregnant women, one in 450 does not know her status until week 20 or later, and one in 2,500 is oblivious until she actually goes into labour.

He said, “signs of this kind of pregnancy may vary from one woman to another but, the general signs are negative urine and blood pregnancy test, continued periodic bleeding, typical pregnancy symptoms, and some times, negative

ultrasounds.

“Even with these signs, such women are bound to experience pregnancy symptoms including the movement of the foetus. Most women do not realise that they are pregnant due to negative tests, continued periods, little or no symptoms and the belief in their doctors who have declared their pregnancies negative.”

He said that “in actual sense, those who are very observant among them will notice changes in their bodies. As a result, they are faced with going through an entire pregnancy without pre-natal care, medical confirmation of the pregnancy and support from friends and family.

“What we do is to determine if the pregnancy is due because it takes between 17 months or maybe years for such babies to be delivered. After we have determined if the pregnancy is due, we place the woman on our herbal medicine which will induce labour by opening up the womb and the woman delivers safely. In many cases, the babies are small but will develop with time,” he said.
