The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has approved 89 films for the month of July, 2014.
A statement signed by the body’s acting head of public affairs, Caeser Kagho, shows the films to include four feature length films for cinema exhibition, while the remaining 85 are for home viewership.
“The total approval for July shows a marginal improvement with 12 over the figure for June when 77 movies were approved,” the statement explained.
The list has Yoruba language films with the highest number of approved films of 30 followed by films in English with 29. Films in other languages are: Hausa (12), Bini (10) and Ibibio/Efik (4).
The NFVCB stated that the approved movies are to be released with their respective consumer advisories on imitable technique, strong language, violence, and fetish rituals.
Among the movies for home viewership, 38 came with “15” classification grade, while 47 were classified “18” (for adult viewership).
