60,000 benefit from N2bn CBN programme in Kaduna

-

Seven off-takers participating in the N2 billion Central Bank of Nigeria Borrower Anchor Programme have commenced distribution of seeds to 60,000 participating farmers in Kaduna State.

The Chairman of All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Nuhu Aminu, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Kaduna.

Aminu said five out of the seven companies registered as off-takers in the CBN programme had commenced distribution of improved seeds to farmers, who are participating in the programme in the state.

He said the improved seeds and other farm inputs were being distributed to farmers to ensure maximum yield with minimal use of land for cultivation.

He said the seeds, including maize, soybeans and rice, were distributed to farmers who registered to participate in the programme in the 2016 farming season.
