Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Face, has allayed fears that the ‘Afrobeats‘ genre might be heading into oblivion on the global stage.
The ‘African Queen’ crooner expressed this confidence during a recent interview with Yaw on Wazobia FM Lagos.
According to 2Face, contrary to some negative predictions by music pundits, Afrobeats will not fall off the world stage.

He added that the ever-growing pool of young talents in Nigeria will ensure its continuity, noting that young artists are the lifeblood of Afrobeats.
While discussing the future of the genre on the show, 2Face said: “Afrobeats can never die. If you listen to some of the young Afrobeats artists now, you will agree with me that the genre is in safe hands.
“Recently, one of the young artists, Fola, remade my song ‘If Love Is a Crime’. I really loved it. Soft, smooth vocals. It is amazing. The present crop of artists have special flows. I love their styles.”
