112 Army officers promoted to rank of General, replace retired ones

Less than a week after 113 Generals were retired by the Nigerian Army, 112 officers have been promoted to the rank of General in what looks like replacing tired officers or those whose loyalty is doubtful with energetic or loyal ones.
A statement issued on Friday by Army spokesperson Onyema Nwachuckwu, a Brigadier General, disclosed the Army Council approved the promotions on Thursday – two days those others were retired.
Nwachuckwu said a total 47 Brigadiers General were promoted to the rank of Major General and 75 Colonels elevated to the rank of Brigadier General.

According to the statement, Brigadiers General promoted to the rank of Major General include:
- WB Etuk, Commandant Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management.
- JE Osifo, Commandant Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration.
- WM Dangana ,Commander Sector 3 Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI.
- TB Ugiagbe, acting Chief of Military Intelligence.
- ASM Wase, Deputy Director General Land Forces Stimulation Centre Nigeria Operations.
- MA Abdullahi, Commandant Depot Nigerian Army.
- BI Alaya, Commander Command Engineering Depot.
- AO Oyelade, Director Personnel Planning Army Headquarters Department of personnel Management.
- OO Arogundade, Commandant Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
- EI Okoro, Commander 13 Brigade.
- CR Nnebeife, Executive Director Nigerian Army Farms and Ranches Limited.
- FU Mijinyawa, Director Plans Army Headquarters Department of Policy and Plans.
- MT Abdullahi, Commander 50 Space Command.
