Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Adebayo Shittu, is allegedly owing his ministry staff over 30 months in salary areas.
Social media users have been flaying the minister for sacking those who complained of lack of payment of salaries.
He reportedly sacked an aide for demanding that he pays him his salaries.
A former chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) in Oyo State, Victor Oluwadamilare who worked with Shittu was sacked alongside other aides when they asked for their 28 months salary arrears.
Shittu had in a disengagement letter to Oluwadamilare dated April 1, 2018, said he and other aides have ceased to be his Assistants on Media.
In a letter of disengagement signed by Shittu said he had issued a bank draft of N1,300,000 as outstanding emoluments as at March 2018.
In 2017, about six aides to the minister resigned.
A Twitter user, Adesola, who claimed that Oluwadamilare is his uncle said the minister owe him N10 million in salary areas.
Shittu is not strange to controversy. The minister evaded the compulsory National Youth Service in 1979 as25-year-old graduate when he became a lawmaker in Oyo State house of assembly.
Penalty for evading the service carries a prison sentence. President Muhammadu Buhari refused to sack him when the revelation came to light.
