Yahaya Bello, Ganduje face-off imminent, as ex-Kogi gov’s campaign posters for APC Chairman flood Abuja

Yahaya Bello handed over the mantle of leadership of Kogi State to his successor, Usman Ododo barely 48 hours ago

There are indications that a feud might be brewing between the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello and the All Progressives Party (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.

This is as Bello’s posters declaring his intentions to unseat the ex-Kano State governor as Nigeria’s ruling party chairman were sighted in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), barely 48 hours after leaving office as governor.

The posters were conspicuous around the Federal Secretariat and on walls and fences of structures around the APC national secretariat on Blantyre Street at Wuse 2 in Abuja.

A closer look at one of the posters reveals it carried the inscription: “APC Next Level. Alhaji Yahaya Bello as APC National Chairman. Leading the Change, Building a Stronger APC.”

An indication that Bello after finishing his tenure as the first citizen of Kogi State is now focused on ousting the current holder of the position.

Abdullahi Ganduje, after his time as the governor of Kano State, currently occupies the office of the APC National Chairman, and will be unwilling to leave without a fight, having assumed the office barely 6 months ago.

Ganduje was elected at the August 3, 2023, National Executive Committee, NEC, of the APC to replace Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who resigned from office.

However, as at the time of this report, Yahaya Bello is yet to affirm the posters were authorized by him neither has he disown them.
