Singer, Demi Lovato has shut down her Twitter account after users began to troll her following her criticisms of another singer, 21 Savage.
The rapper was taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on Sunday and may face deportation.
ICE officials have said that the 26-year-old is not an American citizen and has overstayed his visa in the country.
They revealed that the musician is a British national who entered the US legally as a teenager in 2005 but failed to leave under the terms of a non-immigrant visa.
Twitter users have been reacting to the news of 21 Savage’s British citizenship as he faces the risk of deportation.
In her tweets, which she has deleted, Lovato said: “So far, 21 Savage memes have been my favourite part of the Super Bowl”.
She later followed up with” FYI this is the shit I am laughing at..not the fact that anyone is getting deported.”
21 Savage fans came at the singer and said they felt Lovato was taking a cheap shot at someone’s misfortune.
Rapper Wale said asked why someone’s freedom funny.
Another Rapper, Offset said all meme jokes about 21 Savage are not funny.
Not long after deactivating her Twitter account, Lovato said on Instagram that she was not laughing at anyone getting deported.
“I know that’s not a joke…not that I have ever laughed at that,” she said.
