Tinubu’s transcript shows he did not meet all the pre-qualification requirements for admission into CSU

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has explained Bola Tinubu did not apply for, nor was he issued, a replacement certificate from Chicago State University (CSU) because he did not qualify for it as he did not have all the pre-qualifying courses from Southwest College, Chicago.
Atiku has appealed to the Supreme Court the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) on September 6 which affirmed the election of Tinubu as President, but hearing of the case has not begun at the top court.
Tinubu swore an affidavit around 1999 when he was contesting for Lagos Governor that he had lost all his academic credentials.
However, CSU Registrar Caleb Westberg disclosed in his court deposition on October 3 that Tinubu did not obtain an old certificate or a new one even though he had claimed on oath to have lost the original.
“Now, let’s put Bola A. Tinubu’s life of forgeries and lies in proper perspective, Atiku said at the weekend, per statement issued through his Media Aide Paul Ibe.
“In 1999, Tinubu lied under oath in his form CF001 which he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that he attended St Paul’s Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos; Government College Ibadan, Chicago University (CU) and Chicago State University (CSU).”
“It has been established that he only attended CSU and that he secured admission into the university by impersonation.
“Through the discoveries of his records in the Chicago State University, we now know that Bola A. Tinubu forged a secondary school certificate of Government College Lagos, a[n] HSC certificate from Cambridge University [in 1970] and a transcript from Richard Daley College [Southwest College] which belongs to a female owner.
“We also know, thanks to the discoveries, that the CSU [a] few days to graduation in 1979, notified him [Tinubu] of outstanding (or carry-over as it is known in Nigeria) pre-qualifying examinations in English, Mathematics and Comprehension, which never appeared on his transcript to have been retaken.”
Law Mefor, a forensic and social psychologist based in Abuja, per reporting by TheCable, shed more light on the Tinubu certificate riddle as follows:
“When did Bola A. Tinubu graduate and when did he pick up his degree certificate [are] two important questions ….
“Since [CSU, in the deposition] distinguished between students who graduated and received certificates and others who didn’t, this question may be the most important.
“Many students enroll in schools but never complete them. One’s set can also graduate, however, a specific student might not have discharged some carried-over courses and get delayed.
“Because the South West College is a feeder school for the CSU, its students can complete their degrees their even if they have course carryover.
“In such cases, a student may complete all of their coursework at CSU but they will not be able to get their diploma or degree until they have completed the failed courses at the feeder South West College. The registrar [Westberg] made no mention of this.”

Southwest College transcript lacks English, a compulsory course
“The South West College transcript of Bola A. Tinubu will make this point clear. While the CSU transcript may be complete in terms of credit loads, the South West College transcript is, at the very least, lacking in English.
“Since English is the language of instruction, passing [it] is compulsory for the students before they can graduate or receive their certificate at CSU as elsewhere ….
“From this angle, the problem of the reissue of the certificate does not even come up if the said Bola A. Tinubu (whoever he or she was) did not discharge the carryover from South West College and was unable to college the certificate.
“What hasn’t been issued can’t be reissued.
“When the original certificate cannot be located, most likely because it was destroyed or lost, a reissue becomes essential but this doesn’t appear to be the case here.
“The mystery surrounding the collection of the aforementioned certificate still exists. Clearing it is crucial because a student who has had a certificate denied because they did not complete their academic requirements cannot issue a certificate to themselves. That will be faking. Why then did CSU hide this crucial information?”
