Human rights activist and former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani has alleged that recently reinstated Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II supported and encouraged tyranny in Kaduna State.
Sanusi, who became an Emir after his tenure as governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) was in March 2020 dethroned by the immediate past governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje.
However, barely 24 hours after his dethronment, he was appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency board by former governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Apart from this, the former governor also made him the Chancellor of the Kaduna State University.

Speaking on the crisis rocking the Kano Emirate council via a post on his official X handle on Monday, Shehu Sani acknowledged that Sanusi was a victim of the tyranny in Kano.
He, however, accused him of supporting the tyranny by the El-Rufai-led government in Kaduna State.
He tweeted, “Lamido fought against tyranny in Kano State, became a victim of tyranny in Kano State and supported, identified with and encouraged our own tyranny in Kaduna State.”
