Nwabali was able to train with the goalkeeper trainer at the Police College, Cocody, Abidjan on Tuesday
Super Eagles’ first choice goalkeeper at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Stanley Nwabali was back in training on Tuesday night.
The Chippa United goalie made a remarkable recovery, after sustaining a mild ligament injury in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over harsh rivals, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the last 16 encounter on Saturday.
Prior to this, Nwabali, trained separately on Monday as the Super Eagles started preparations for their quarter-final clash against one of AFCON’s dark horses, Angola.
However, he was able to train with the goalkeeper trainer at the Police College, Cocody, Abidjan on Tuesday, giving credence to the fact that he is good to go against the Palancas Negras on Friday.

The 27-year-old South African based shot stopper was no longer limping as he was taken through the routine goalkeeping drills.
He is, however, expected to undergo another test on Wednesday to ascertain his fitness level.
After the news of Nwabali’s first full training session made the round online, fans of the Super Eagles trooped to various social media platforms to express their delight.
Most of those who commented were glad that his counterpart, Uzoho, who replaced him in the win against Cameroon will not be in goal against Angola.
