In Lagos, police share water to protesters, in kudos to new Police Commissioner

Bola Tinubu boasted to traditional rulers last week he funded his election from his “personal fortune” – the source of which he has never publicly disclosed – but he is having sleepless nights in his metaphorical bunker in Aso Rock, caused by the upheaval around the country.
The President has, as usual, arrogantly refused to address youths staging #EndBadGovernance protest or make a broadcast to the general populace, despite many Nigerians having urged him to do so.
The popular hunger protest has seen massive turn out across the country for two days running. There are eight more days to go, as planned by the protesting youths.
Tinubu does not deign to hold press conferences where journalists can have the opportunity to ask him questions and does not stoop low from his high horse to speak to issues personally, preferring to be an imperial President who speaks through surrogates and paid agents – nearly all of them liars.
He has deployed security forces to attack hunger protesters in his front yard in Abuja and in some states, justifying it by citing violence that police instigate or allow to occur.
However, there in a twist to the plot in Lagos, where police today distributed water packs to protesters, with others scrambling for sausages, on day two of the 10-day uprising plan.
Lagos police had also distributed biscuits and water sachets to those who protested on June 12 to mark Democracy Day, showing the human face of the new Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, who explained at the time the gesture was to ensure no one fainted in a legitimate protest in searing heat.
