Nigerian dancer and singer, Yeni Kuti has said she won’t be leaving her marriage even if she caught her husband cheating on her.

The popular dancer who is the daughter of Afrobeats pioneer, Fela Anikulapo Kuti justified her decision, saying her late father had 27 wives but her mother did not leave the marriage.

Yeni made headlines in January when she revealed on TVC Nigeria’s programme ‘Your View’ that the only reason she will leave a relationship or marriage is if she finds out her man is cheating on her with a fellow man.

”For me, cheating is not a deal breaker. My father had 27 wives, my mother didn’t go; I am not saying she was happy, but she didn’t leave

“My own deal breaker is if I find out my own partner is sleeping with another man. That is my deal breaker. I will run, they wouldn’t even beg me. I will run,” she said.

However, in a recent interview with Chude, she reiterated her position, while addressing a variety of issues concerning her, her family, and her late father.

Reacting during the latest chat to her earlier view on a cheating husband Yeni said: “I won’t leave my husband if he’s cheating. That’s me. You can leave your own husband if he’s cheating; that’s you. Don’t judge me; I’m not judging you.

“My father had 27 wives; my mother didn’t go. It’s me who will now come and go because of one girl. It cannot happen.”

After the clip of the interview made the rounds on social media, netizens who trooped to the comment hailed her for her courage.
