YAN aspirant commends Yobe governor over automatic employment of 37 midwives

The Yobe State Ambassadorial candidate for the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN) and YAN Yobe North Coordinator, Abubakar Ibn Usman Nguru, has commended the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, for approving the automatic employment of the 37 graduating midwives of Set 2 of the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery, Damaturu, into the state’s healthcare services.

Governor Mai Mal Buni during the graduation ceremony of the 37 midwives on the college campus in Damaturu, recently,  announced the approval for the automatic recruitment into the state’s healthcare service.

He also approved a hike of the monthly allowances of student nurses and midwives of the college by a 100 percent.

The governor disclosed that a two-storey 200-bed capacity hostel and two additional classrooms and offices would be built for students of the college, adding that of the 3600 housing units to be built in the state some would be allocated to the staff of the institution.

On the development, the Yobe YAN ambassadorial candidate, Abubakar Ibn Usman Nguru, said that the 100 days so far spent in office by the Governor brought a lot of developmental programmes and projects that supercede the expectations of many, adding that for any meaningful progress youth empowerment and infrustructural  development must be taken seriously.

While listing some of the achievements recorded by the state Governor, Abubakar Nguru stressed that within the 100 days in office, the governor has succeeded in taken measures towards reviving the education sector by organizing Yobe education summit, establishment of Yobe teacher training centre in Damaturu and award of undergraduate and  post-graduate foreign scholarship to Yobe State indegenes.

Other projects, according to him, are the construction of 3600 houses across the 17 local government areas of the state, revitalization of manufacturing industries across the state, presentation of empowerment tools to 185 youths trained in photography by Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), construction of modern trailer park in Potiskum and other projects, all geared towards youth empowerment in the state.

On why he decided to contest for the state Ambassadorial seat under Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Abubakar Nguru said due to several calls from different youth groups across the state for him to contest the state ambassadorial seat.

He thanked the state governor for not only fulfiling his campaign promises to youths in the state but also for giving them the opportunity to serve in his administration, pledging his total support to the governor and his administration.
