Police say one Rahimat Salaum has admitted to killing her husband over a disagreement she did not explain officers whom she took to the site where she dumped his body in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
FCT Police Public Relations Officer Josephine Adeh, a Superintendent of Police, confirmed the murder in a statement which also disclosed Salaum was arrested on July 29 by officers from Pegi Police Division.
Adeh said the suspect was attempting to flee with the belongings of her husband before officers swooped in and apprehended her, after which she confessed to the murder.
“[Salaum) subsequently led the police operatives to an uncompleted building where she had dumped the gruesomely burned body,” the statement said.
“While investigation is still ongoing, the Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, wishes to affirm that justice will be served in the matter, as he urged residents to be wary of their environment and report suspicious activities to the police.”
