Human Rights activist and Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council for Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Dr. Tunji Abayomi, has tipped Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu for victory in the 2023 general.

Abayomi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said with the words of encouragement given to Tinubu by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, victory is certain.

According to Abayomi, Tinubu is a worthy person to support if going by the words of encouragement he received when he visited the former president in Abeokuta last week.

He said: “There is no doubt in my mind that Victory is so certain for Tinubu.”

Abayomi in a statement issued today in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, added: “Those of us who support Tinubu and are close to President Obasanjo are contented with the pillow Obasanjo gave Tinubu, that is the pillow of encouragement and warm spirit.

“In short without declaration or proclamation of any endorsement, Baba Obasanjo as a Yoruba Elder gave Asiwaju Tinubu all that we wanted from him,” the Constitutional lawyer noted.

His words: “Now I cannot say President Obasanjo endorsed Tinubu. He didn’t hold a Press Conference and did not release a Press Statement to confirm any endorsement.

“President Obasanjo held the hands of Tinubu like most respected and regarded brother. They sat very close to one another and enjoyed quite and supportive dialogue in pleasure, brotherhood and laughter.

“Above all after this very warm atmosphere President Obasanjo who never hides his feelings never denied Bola Ahmed Tinubu nor his pursuit whether in word or in letters the desire to be President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“President Obasanjo as far as we are concerned need not proclaim any endorsement or swear to an affidavit. It is sufficient that we remind ourselves that action speaks lounder than voice.

“Endorsement that we need for Tinubu from whatever source derived does not go beyond sharing with him the joy of his pursuit and backing him with encouraging warmth and laughter, all of which we got from ‘Ebora Owu’. President Obasanjo has only one vote like every Nigerian citizen. Neither a declared nor a proclaimed endorsement would give to Tinubu any more votes like the votes held by the large crowd of believers that received Tinubu.” Abayomi added
