I will run open-door policy – Azeez

Newly-elected President of the Nigeria Referees (Football) Association (NRA), Tade Azeez, has assured Nigerian football stakeholders that his will be a transparent administration.

 

In a chat with TheNiche after his victory, the Vice President of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), said things will change for good in terms of officiating.

He said: “It is too early to start rolling out what we intend to do in office, but one thing that is crystal clear is that my office will be open for constructive criticisms as I am ready to run an open-door policy.

 

“Definitely, with the calibre of people that we will work with, I can assure you all that things will change for good in terms of officiating.

 

“We are coming on board to work for the good of the game and its growth in the country.

 

“I want to thank all that ensured we are on board and I also want to assure all that we will not disappoint; we will not let our people down and we will do our best for the development of the game.

 

At the recent Quadrennial Delegate Congress held in Benin City, Edo State, Azeez polled 37 votes to emerge the new president of the NRA. He defeated Sunday Audu from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) who polled 15 votes, while Dokubo Dabore from Rivers State polled eight votes and Fatai Yusuf from Ogun State polled five votes.

 

Sanni Zubair was elected deputy president while Alex Omeiza was elected deputy secretary.

 

Kelechi Mejuobi was elected Public Relations Officer (PRO), Salauwa Aliu was elected Training Officer, Sarah Adebisi Assistant Training Officer and Ben Olokor Financial Secretary.
