Why we embarked on town hall meetings in Delta, by commissioner

The ongoing Town Hall meetings  between the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and the people of the state coupled with the commissioning and inspection of projects have been clarified as fulfillment of campaign promises to the electorates. 
  The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, said that the government was not cajoled into arranging the Town Hall meetings but packaged them as fulfillment of promise made to the people of Delta State. 
 
He revealed that the two meetings held so far at Isoko North and Isoko South local government areas provided a good platform for the governor to meet with critical stakeholders and cross fertilized ideas targeted at fashioning out ways of improving on the gains made by the state in the midterm of his administration. 
 
  Ukah disclosed that the meetings were already achieving the objectives, saying the people had expressed satisfaction at the projects commissioned describing them as direct fulfillment of the campaign promises made by the Governor. 
 
The commissioner reiterated that there was nothing wrong in arranging the Town Hall meetings pointing out that the corporate world, held Annual General Meetings to appraise their performances and work out ways of doing things better in the future. 
 
The Town Hall meetings and commissioning and inspection of projects will continue in Sapele and Ethiope West Local Government Areas on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 16 and 17, 2017 respectively.
