The Nigeria Police Force has said it arrested Chude Nnamdi who tweets with the handle @chude__ in Onitsha, Anambra State on Saturday, March 18, 2023, over alleged cyber-stalking.

According to the police on Wednesday, Chude was arrested following a petition about his activities on social media which contravenes the provision of Section 24 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015 and other criminal laws.

The police did not reveal the petitioner but many have accused Anambra State Governor, Prof Charles Soludo, of being connected to it, an allegation the governor has denied.

Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said Chude is being investigated by the Nigeria Police Force National Cyber Crime Centre, Abuja.

The NPF urged members of the public to familiarise themselves with the provisions of the law and be aware of the penalties for committing cybercrime, especially with the advent of the digital media space.
