The Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, has said the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, ran away from the country so that the window of substitution available with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for aggrieved aspirants can pass away.
Okechukwu adduced the reason when he spoke with newsmen in Abuja.
The VON DG, also an aspirant for Enugu West Senatorial District, said that Oshiomhole wanted to be away to block the window meant to redress the grievances of party members and aspirants.
Besides, he called for Oshiomhole’s resignation as APC chairman. Okechukwu had complained about what he described as his unjust treatment by the APC during the primaries.
Operatives of the Department of State Services had over the weekend reportedly quizzed Oshiomhole over petitions arising from the primaries.
The quizzing took place on Sunday and Monday.
Oshiomhole was said to have then jetted to the United States on Tuesday.
