Frank Edoho, the former anchor of the show, announced his exit as the host of the show in 2017 after parting ways with the organisers

Popular TV host, filmmaker, and photographer, Frank Edoho, has returned as the anchor of the television game show, ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ (WWTBAM) after quitting as host in September, 2017.
The organises of the show made this known while announcing the return of the TV show which went off the air in 2017 at an event at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos,
Originally a British show, it was adapted to suit Nigerian audiences, the show debuted in 2004, but went off the air in 2017 after 13 years of its broadcast.

The anchor, Frank Edoho later announced on Twitter that he would no longer be the hoat of the host show after he and the organisers failed to reach an agreement.
The organisers, while intimating the public about the return of the show, said the ultimate prize to be won has now moved up from N10m to N20m, and it will run for 52 weeks.
The new WWTBAM was titled ‘”The Rebirth” and an additional lifeline, termed “asking the host” whenever contests get stuck, was also introduced.
The existing lifelines on the show are ’50-50’, ‘Call a Friend’, and ‘Ask the Audience’.
The most memorable time on the show was when Aroma Chimuanya won N10m, the ultimate prize in 2009, Osazuwa Osahon Daniels, also went home with N5m in the same year.
Other notable winners are Babatunde Oladipo, who walked away with N5m in 2010; and Nnaemeka Ubaekwena, who left the show N5m richer in 2012.
The show will be sponsored by UP, a payments and financial technology company, in partnership with BLK Hut Media, producers of the show in Nigeria, under the license of Sony Pictures.
The Managing Director of UP, Agada Apochi, said the show after its return will keep Nigerians glued to the edges of their seats.
He said, “We are sponsoring the show to entertain, educate and excite Nigerians. The return of WWTBAM is coming with a bang that would create lasting memories in the minds of audiences.
“It is going to keep them on the edge of their seats as new millionaires emerge from the show.”
Chief Executive Officer of BLK HUT Media, Hakeem Condotti, also pointed out that the show is a welcomed relief after the adverse socio-economic impact of covid, he also told viewers to get ready to be entertained and educated.
