Romelu Lukaku‘s 15th league goal as a Manchester United player was his 100th on a Premier League pitch, and the Belgian reached the marker at the tender age of 24 as the Red Devils cruised past Swansea City 2-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday.

“I’m really happy to achieve that milestone,” Lukaku said. “It is a dream come true. l’m really happy to achieve that in a league I’ve wanted to play in since I was six years old.”

Lukaku scored for the fourth time in his last six matches, and 26th time in all competitions. He’s coming off a two-goal, assist performance for Belgium against Saudi Arabia in an international friendly.

Lukaku’s PL haul

Everton – 68 goals, 26 assists in 141 matches

West Brom – 17 goals, seven assists in 35 matches Manchester United – 15 goals, seven assists in 30 matches Chelsea – 0 goals, 1 assist in 10 matches

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho said Lukaku and his teammates were brilliant in the first half, but tired in the second. Both Lukaku and Mourinho stressed the importance of finishing in second place for the season.

“We want to finish second this year and have 10 points more than last season, more goals scored, less goals conceded, but there is a club which is making it practically impossible to follow,” Mourinho said. “In other leagues we would be fighting for the title.”

That unnamed club is his Premier League rival, Manchester City, who could be victorious in the Manchester Derby this weekend.
