Ogheneakoke emerges as President
The Warri Boys Association, a frontline social non-partisan, non-sectional and non-religious organisation, has elected new executive members to steer the affairs of the association in the coming years.
In a keenly contested election, George Ogheneakoke emerged president unopposed while other members were voted into various positions.
In his inaugural speech, the new President expressed gratitude to the members of the association for the confidence reposed in him and for returning him unopposed. He said the major focus of his administration would be on consolidating on his previous achievements as well as reaching out to other great sons and daughters of the Niger- Delta extraction to join the association in order to strengthen its membership base.
He emphasized that Warri Boys Association (WBA) has come a long way and it was high time time the association assumed its rightful position in the scheme of events by providing the right platform and the unifying umbrella for Niger-Delta professionals from all walks of life to come together with a view to moving the Niger-Delta region forward.
To this end, he stressed that WBA will work with the government of Delta state including appropriate institutions in the academia, external resource channels and other related groups to pursue programmes and projects that will be beneficial to Niger-Deltans.
He, therefore, called for co-operation and support from the members towards achieving these laudable programmes he has ear-marked for the association.
“I must thank you all for the confidence you reposed in me; I must also stress that I need your full co-operation as we jointly embark in taking our beloved association to a greater height” he said.
Ogheneakoke, also congratulated other members of the EXCO. They include; Gbemi Arueyingho, (Vice President); Martins Omojigho Nomuoja, (Secretary); Pius Enakerakpo, (Treasurer); Jeff Jevwede Obahor, (Financial Secretary) and Frank Chibogu, (Assistant Financial Secretary).
All the newly elected executive members have been inaugurated.
