Maduka Okoye, Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper, has secured a dream move to the English Premier League side, Watford.

Super Eagles’ keeper, Maduka Okoye, has secured a dream move to the English Premier League (EPL) side, Watford from Eredivisie side, Sparta Rotterdam. 

The move was sealed on Monday. October 8, 2021, and the Nigerian goalkeeper has expressed his pleasure in signing for the London club.

Okoye signed a five-year contract with The Hornets, who are currently 17th in the EPL, but he will spend the rest of the season with the Dutch Club.

The 22-year- old, who confirmed the deal via his Twitter account, said the move is a  dream come true for him. 

Okoye also revealed he cannot wait for the season to end so that he can join his new teammates in England.  

“I’m overwhelmed to sign for Watford FC, to play in the Premier League is something I’ve been dreaming about since I was a little boy.”

“I can’t wait to get started with the team upcoming 22/23 season and I wish the Club all the best for the rest of the season”. he posted 

He began his career at  Bayer Leverkusen in 2012 before joining Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2017, where he represented their Youth and senior teams.

The Super Eagles keeper, joined Sparta Rotterdam in 2020, before agreeing to join Walford where he will be joining his Nigerian teammate William Troost-Ekong.
