The chairman of Anyigba Community Vigilante in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, Mallam Umoru Abuh, has hailed the state Governor, Yahaya Bello, over his efforts towards ensuring the security of lives and property in the state. Abuh maintained that the governor has taken a proactive measure to rid the state of crime through his policies within a short time.

He further added that the governor’s commitment of huge state resources to combat all forms of crime is not misplaced, as the security of lives and property must be the priority of any responsible government, he stressed.

Abuh, who assumed the mantle of leadership of Anyigba Community Vigilante in the last quarter of 2015, has since made tremendous achievements in fighting crimes in Anyigba, which has witnessed all forms of criminality in recent times as a result of the presence of a university, the Kogi State University, Anyigba.

Abuh, who spoke exclusively with our correspondent, pointed out that the success been recorded in fighting crime was as a result of his zero tolerance to crime and the collective efforts of his men, stakeholders and the entire people of the community, stressing that the efforts of the community cannot be ruled out for effective community policing, urging the people to do more in providing intelligence information, to create a crime-free society.

Abuh further claimed that he remains the authentic and recognized chairman of the Vigilante Group in Anyigba, saying that the paramount ruler of the community, HRH Alhaji Shaibu Okolo (Ogohi-Onu Anyigba, Doga) and the entire community appointed him to man the position, while warning those parading themselves as chairman of the group to stop that they cannot claim glory for something they never contributed to its success.
