Buhari assured that his government has taken adequate security measures to allow everyone to come out and cast their votes.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday assured Nigerians that his government has taken adequate measures to ensure that credible and successful elections are delivered to them.

Speaking in a video that lasted two minutes, 32 seconds and titled, “My Message to Nigerians on the forthcoming Elections,” Buhari said, “We have taken adequate measures to ensure we deliver credible and successful elections. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

The President who enjoined Nigerians to exercise their franchise in a peaceful atmosphere called on traditional rulers, religious leaders and parents to warn their followers and wards alike not to allow themselves to be used to foment trouble.

He, however, assured that his government has taken adequate security measures to allow everyone to come out and cast their votes.

“I am therefore appealing to everyone to give them (security) the necessary support,” Buhari further said.

Thanking Nigerians for electing him president twice, he, however, reminded them that he is not a contestant in the forthcoming election.

Buhari appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience in the face of the hardship they are facing as a result of the government’s ongoing monetary policy, assuring them that there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

“I am fully aware of the current hardship you are facing as a result of some policy of the government which are meant to bring overall improvement to the country.

“I am appealing to you to exercise patience while we are taking measures to ease the hardship.

“God willing, there will be light at the end of the tunnel,” Buhari concluded.
