A video of some students who said they are students of the University of Ilorin have ‘praised’ the Kwara state government over four packs of palliative allegedly shared to each student to cushion the impact of the high cost of foodstuff in the country.
The video, obviously intended to ridicule the palliative, showed the students showing off the four packs of noodles which they claimed the government shared top each student. They calculated that the four packs were meant to last them for the four years of their educational pursuit, with each pack lasting for one year.
One of them said: “We want to use this opportunity and this medium to thank the Kwara State Government and UNILORIN at large to giving us this four palliative for each student. At least, This four palliative will last us for four years – 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027. Kwara State Government, thank you. UNILORIN at large, thank you. “
An X user who posted the video said he was told the students have been expelled by the school authorities.
He said: “These are students of the University of Ilorin. They did this video to mock the Kwara State Government over the ridiculous nooddles handout to students in Kwara in the name of palliatives. I heard the students were suspended for this. Please can someone confirm this?”
