VIDEO: Police disperse Obi supporters during rally in Ebonyi

The policemen shot their teargas at the  innocent citizens who were having their peaceful rally in support of Peter Obi in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state Capital.

At least 10,000 supporters of Peter Obi who converged at the People’s Club in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, were today, September 17, dispersed with teargas. 

The OBIdients, as Peter Obi supporters love yo call themselves, had planned mega rallies in seven major Nigerian  cities. 

The rallies were billed to hold in Owerri, Enugu, Plateau, Ebonyi, Niger, Umuahia and Bayelsa. 

The point of convergence for the Obidients are:

OWERRI — Freedom Square 

PLATEAU — Secretariat flyover 

ENUGU — Okpara square 

EBONYI — People club

NIGER — Maje flyover Suleja

UMUAHIA — Express Tower

BAYELSA — Tombia roundabout

While the rallies have been going on without any incident in many of the cities, the rally in Ebonyi was disrupted before takeoff as policemen dispersed the assembly. Although they later regrouped and continued with their procession.

The Obidients accuse the Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, of unleashing the police on them. 

According to eye witnesses, the policemen shot their teargas at the  innocent citizens who were having their peaceful rally in support of Peter Obi in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state Capital.
