Publisher of ThisDay Newspaper, Nduka Obaigbena, has praised the political stride of Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, saying he is the future president of Nigeria. In contrast, Obaigbena said Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, o’lule (woefully failed).

The occasion for the banters was the burial ceremony of Obaigbena’s mother, Princess Margaret Obaigbena, who died at the age of 88.

Obaigbena, who was in the company of Tambuwal and other dignitaries, said: “Governor of Sokoto Tambuwal; Future president; Tambuwal. Chairman of PDP Governors Forum; Tambuwal. Wike O’ lule’.” Tambuwal hurriedly raised his hand in protest of the Wike’s mock.

Wike has been feeling bitter since the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, chose governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa over him.

O’lule is a new addition to Nigeria’s political lexicon following Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s description of President Muhammadu Buhari’s perennial failure in seeking Nigeria’s highest office.

The two men later formed alliance before the 2015 election, and that gave victory for Buhari.

Tinubu claimed credit for that feat and declared that the 2023 presidential ticket of his party, and by extension, the presidency of Nigeria, was his turn for take.
