A video of a Nigerian lady explaining why she doesn’t call family and friends back home has sparked debate on Twitter.
In the video, the lady whose name has not been ascertained, lamented the pressure of making money in the UK, and how friends and family back home would inundate her with requests for financial assistance which they nickname ‘billing.’
The less than one minute video has sparked debate on Twitter. While some empathized with her, others accused her of being stingy which they claim is typical of people in the UK.
@Humphre19683536 said: “Some of you it is not that the work is that stressful, it is greed that has eaten into you people. There is nowhere in the world you pick money from the floor. If you want to help, you can still help or support someone instead of always giving money. Why not try to carry one of your family members?”

The tweet got an instant rebuttal from @A_kharitonov: “See werey with self entitlement on top another person’s success. Ogbeni, some of these people have 2 -3 jobs to pay bills, feed themselves, try to save and use it to better their lives when they come back home. Instead of asking for money and calling them greedy, why don’t you make yours.”
@kejibolaji1 said: “Many People for UK dey stingy normally. Na your family dey call you aunty, pick the calls and help them if you wan help them. No come dey mumu video for us here,rest!”
