Super Eagles Star, Victor Osimhen, has rained curses on those who believed Coach Finidi George’s disparaging remarks about him.
According to several media reports, Finidi George who has now resigned his job as Super Eagles chief coach, reportedly said he was unable to sanction some players because they belong to some “big men.”
He said this when he, along with NFF chieftains, met with Sports Minister, John Enoh, in Abuja to review the Super Eagles’ tottering 2026 World Cup campaign after they held South Africa to a 1-1 draw in Uyo before they were shocked by lowly rated Benin 2-1.
Osimhen was not available for the two all-important World Cup qualifiers with an official explanation that he was injured and sidelined for four weeks.
But Finidi said the Napoli striker could still have managed to play the matches if he wanted.
A source in the meeting said: “The coach went on to say that it appears that Osimhen chooses the games he plays for Nigeria and he (Finidi) cannot beg him to play for his country.”
But in a live Instagram chat, Osimhen said he duly informed Finidi about his medicals and even promised to be in the camp to cheer his colleagues, but Finidi declined, urging him to remain behind with his family.
Osimhen then rained curses on anyone who believed Finidi, adding that he no longer has any respect for the ex-Super Eagles coach.
