Liverpool captain, Vigil van Dijk has refused to rule North London club, Arsenal out of the English Premier League (EPL) title race.

He gave his verdict, after the Gunners played a 2-2 draw with the Reds on Sunday evening at the Emirates Stadium.

Goals from Bukayo Saka, Van Dijk, Mikel Merino and Mohamed Salah ensured both teams got a point each from the highly intriguing encounter.

The score draw leaves Liverpool in second position with 22 points from 9 games, while Arsenal sit in third position with 18 points from the same number of matches.

Both teams are, however, behind league leaders, Manchester City, who have 23 points.

Speaking after the game, Van Dijk insisted that Mikel Arteta’s side are not out of the title race at the moment.

He added that losing a game at the beginning of the season to a title rival does not always mean a contender is out of the race.

“Man City lost here and they won the league… I have read so many things that Arsenal are out of the title race if they lose,” Van Dijk said via Fabrizio Romano.

“We’re in the business where you can be on top one week and then not… just enjoy the ride”.
