Once it comes to the month of February, most people start thinking Valentine.

The next thought for those who are singles is ‘who will be my Val?’

Next on the line is, what gift should I get to my Val that will wow him or her?

Then the biggest headache is the money involved in the purchase of the gift, if you are a broke guy or lady. The tendency is that you want to impress him or her by out gifting any rival. You may soon run into a financial crisis if you don’t step back from that false life.

Love and Valentine’s Day

Gifs are one of the signature moments of Valentine Day. But it is not all that it is. To spice the day and make the memory linger, other things should be done along with the gifting. Here are some of them.

Make the time for your spouse

Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding fathers of America, said: “Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of.”

The quote shows how valuable time is, and how important you rate a person that you spend your time with.

If anyone is using his or her time on you, they know how precious you are to them.

A friend once told me: “You think those time I spend reaching you are in vain, it’s because you are precious to me. “

It sounded like a thunderbolt to me. That was how I started valuing a minute of anyone’s time because if you are not valued, someone can’t give you his or her time. ‘Time na money’

The fact remains that whatever we don’t spend our time on, may or will not yield results. That is why it is necessary to create time for your spouse this season of love.

We know how busy life can be especially those in commercial areas, but no matter how busy you are, we advise that you create out time for your spouse this season.

Do the following, and you will be happy you did.

*Creating out time for an evening walk out.

*A hang out at a cool exciting place.

*You can go to the beach, streams and admire nature and have a fresh rethink of life together.

Cook a special delicacy

And hey, when it comes to preparing a delicacy, I don’t mean it’s only the woman. You as a man can surprise your woman by going to the kitchen and preparing what she likes.

Write a love letter

Put your thoughts into a paper by expressing your affection to your spouse. That paper will be a prized item for a loving heart. Tell them why they are special. Be honest in doing so by not exaggerating.

Give a gift

Gift is very important, but should not be for show. The heart in which you give matters. And anyone who doesn’t appreciate the gift you’ve given them doesn’t really deserve it in the first place.

Dangote can gift a person an SUV worth millions of naira. The receiver would be excited by the gift, but knows that Dangote hasn’t stretched his resources by any inch in giving that gift. So, it will be a matter of time for that excitement and memory to fade away. But a struggling person who buys a wristwatch, a perfume, necklace for a spouse, may have truly stretched their resources and deserve to be valued in return.

Also, take note, gifting your spouse or a loved one should not be one-way traffic on valentine. If only one party presents gifts all the time, that love will soon fade away. This is not advocating give and take.

Most people believe in giving and receiving. When giving out a gift to someone, you should not have in mind to receive something back from them. If you are expectant, you will have heartache.

You should give in love and expect nothing. A thank you from a sincere heart has more value, blessings than a gift back that is not from the heart.

Let the love flow
