Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has expressed his readiness to partner with good-willed persons and groups for the development of the state.

Governor Uzodinma gave the assurance at the funeral service of the late Nneoma Chinyere Dora Anyanwu, mother of the First Lady of Ondo State, Betty-Anyanwu Akeredolu at Christ Anglican Church Emeabiam, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State on Friday, March 13, 2020.

Governor Uzodinma extolled the impeccable qualities of Nneoma Dora Chinyere Anyanwu during her sojourn on earth as testified by all who came in contact with her in her life time.

He said: “We are here today because of the death of one of our brightest Mama. I am told she was a community mobilizer, a leader, philanthropist and committed woman. She was committed in all activities of the church and community affairs.”

The governor stressed the need to immortalize an amazon like Mama Dora Anyanwu and assured that government would support any project embarked upon to write her name in gold.

While acknowledging his counterpart and in-law, His Excellency, Governor Akeredolu of Ondo State, Governor Uzodinma encouraged him to actualize those ‘Good things’ he promised his in-laws for the betterment of the people, adding that he will always enjoy his support once they are people-oriented.

Citing the book of Romans Chapter 8:38-39 in his sermon, the presiding cleric, Emeabiam Archideaconry, Rev. Ben Iheanyi Onyegecha, harped on the need to remain attached to the love of God and never be separated from it by mundane things of the world.

He described Mama Dora Anyanwu as an amazon and a quintessential woman who has written her name in gold before departure to glory.

For Governor Akeredolu, it was a period of heartfelt appreciation to his kit and kin, friends, in-laws and well wishers who thronged to make the burial of his mother-in-law worth the while.

Among eminent personalities present at the occasion were: Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, his deputy, Dr. Ajayi and wife, Mrs. Akande, representative of Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, the Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly and his team, Ondo State Deputy Chief Judge, some traditional rulers from both states and other government officials.
