Utomi speaks on Southern Unity at Ikengaonline town hall 

Renowned political economist, Professor Patrick Okedinachi Utomi, will be the guest speaker at the second Ikengaonline town hall meeting which holds on Thursday August 25, 2022.

According to Uche Ugboajah, Ikengaonline Editor-in-Chief, Professor Utomi will speak on the topic, “Handshake across the Niger: the imperatives of Southern unity now and beyond.

The virtual town hall will be the second in the series of meetings that will be held every last Thursday of the month to discuss various issues affecting the South-East in particular and the entire country in general. 

The first in the series which was held last month featured Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, the immediate past Senate Minority Leader who spoke on “The South-East and the 2023 general election: Participation in the midst of Insecurity.”

Ikengaonline is a South-East-focused media platform, which aims to give voice to citizens of the South-East, and parts of Rivers and Delta states, and highlight the challenges facing the region. 

The event will be moderated by Dr. Osmund Agbo and Dr Chido Onumah.

Ikengaonline is a publication of Ikenga Media and Cultural Awareness Initiative (IMCAI), a non-profit entity that seeks to promote positive socio-cultural values, accountability and good governance through media and public education. 

Ikengaonline is part of the Collaborative Media Engagement for Development Inclusivity and Accountability Project, a multi-level intervention for media independence and government accountability, managed by the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) and supported by MacArthur Foundation.
