The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged the Nigerian government to use all returned Chief James Ibori loot for the benefit of victims of corruption in Delta State.
SERAP stated that failure to do so would attract legal action from it to ensure that the victims were not denied justice and remedies.
In its twitter handle on Wednesday, SERAP wrote,
“All the Ibori loot estimated to be £100m (including the planned return of £4.2m) should be used for the direct benefit of the victims of corruption in Delta State.
“We’ll pursue appropriate legal action to ensure that the victims are not denied justice and remedies”.
