As Prince Tsola Emiko completes his coronation rites and consequent installation as the 21st Olu of the ancient kingdom of Warri in Delta State on Saturday, President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his message of felicitations to the young monarch and his people – the Itsekiri.

The President, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, especially rejoiced with the people for managing to rise above the initial misunderstanding that trailed the appointment of Prince Emiko as Olu-designate.

He, however, urged the new traditional ruler to reciprocate the gesture by serving his people well.

“President Muhammadu Buhari congratulates all Itsekiris home and abroad, as Prince Tsola Emiko gets installed as the 21st Olu of Warri, August 21, 2021.

“The President salutes the Kingdom for overcoming the issues that arose after the initial appointment of the Olu-designate, urging that any outstanding matters should be amicably resolved in the interest of peace and tranquility.

“As a Western-trained political scientist, and management expert, President Buhari counsels the new Olu to use his gift and intellect to serve his people, noting the peaceful disposition of Itsekiris to peace in the Niger Delta region, and the country in general.

“The President prays that the new epoch will consolidate on the peace, progress and prosperity of all members of the Warri Kingdom,” the statement reads.

Emiko attended NNPC Primary School in Warri and later Adesoye College, Offa, Kwara State for his secondary education between 1995 and 2001.

He then proceeded to Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA where he bagged his Bachelor’s of Arts between 2002 and 2006, majoring in International Studies and Political Science while minoring in History and Economics. In 2007, he earned a Master’s of Science in Management also from Case Western Reserve University.
