What have you done special to deserve this presidential award?

That’s a very interesting question. Well, as you know, I’m an artist who uses my music/craft to promote peace, love, happiness, mental health awareness, and empowerment for black girls and women. I guess I’m just doing what I do with my heart and true love for humanity.

What is the relationship between Nigerians in the disapora and Nigerian government?

Jemiriye

I think without mincing words, Nigerians in diaspora contribute a whole lot to the development of Nigeria. Report says Nigerians in diaspora has sent over 20 billion dollars to the country this year alone. I really would like the Nigerian government to endeavor to work more with Nigerians in diaspora, especially those who are willing to work for the betterment of the country. The relationship is there, but it can be better.

How do you think this award will have a positive impact on Nigerians?

I will love the award to have a positive impact on the youths first of all, because they’re the future of any society. I hope this award encourages the youths not to give up on themselves and their dreams. They should remember they can achieve anything if they put their mind to it, stay focused, pray, and never give up. In a world filled with so much mental illness and all sorts of distractions, I’ll love to be a ray of light and hope.

People see Nigeria as a bad country, and you, as a Nigerian winning this presidential award. Which message do you think this award sends to the world?

I don’t believe Nigerians are seen as bad people, on the contrary, Nigerians are well respected for their hard work and hustle spirit wherever they find themselves in the world, of course we can’t rule out the bad eggs that spoil the hardworking Nigerians making honest living. Also, if the leaders do right by the country, Nigeria can be one of the best countries in the world.

How do you intend to correct the wrong impression about Nigeria through this award?

I hope that by me getting this award, it will encourage the youths out there and show them that they can do more than the stereotyped internet fraud. If I can do it, then you can, too.

  1. Has the Nigerian government called you to congratulate you on this award ?

No, and I’m not waiting.

Do we see you return to Nigeria to contest for any political seat?

Hmmmmmm, I’m not sure I’d like to contest for a political seat. However, I’ll definitely love to work for our people and bring some positive change.

If the Nigerian government offers you any national award, will you accept it?

I’ll gladly accept an award from the Nigerian government if it’ll allow me to spread my message of peace and love and bring some positive changes to the youths.
