.As lawmaker promises quality representation

The Kogi State Assembly member representing Dekina /Biraidu constituency, Idoko Moses Ododo, has reiterated his commitment and effort towards adequate and functional representation that would enhance good governance and the provision of the dividends of democracy to the people of his constituency.

Idoko made the statement while receiving an Award of Excellent performance conferred on him by a club in his country home, Ologba, Unity Club, Ojuwo-Ologba on Wednesday, September 15, 2016. The law-maker, who expressed delight for the honours and recognition accorded to him, stressed that he never knew the group were monitoring his activities though he was yet to present his score card to his people since he was elected.

Idoko further described the award as a morale booster and assured the members of the Unity Club and the people of his constituency that he must work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him.

The lawmaker urged the people of his constituency to be patient with the All Progressive Congress (APC) led Federal Government as the president is working hard to end the challenges facing the nation. The lawmaker also took a swipe on the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which, according to him, brought the nation to the current hardship as a result of mismanagement and massive looting of the nation’s treasury, adding that the nation was in a state of collapse before the APC came to its rescue.

Idoko said that he has moved several motions in the floor of the state Assembly. One of such was a motion ordering the state government to pay one month salary to civil servants which the state government complied immediately during the wake of the staff verification and screening exercise which resulted to a halt in the payment of salaries. He said his representation has also ensured the provision of social amenities to villages in his constituency, which included the electrification project at Ologba, Iyale, Ikpakpala, Ulaja and Etutekpe, the drilling of boreholes at Abocho Ajobaje, Odu Ofumu, Aloko Oganenigu. Some villages have been earmarked for further projects, he said.

Earlier, the club said that its decision to confer the award on the lawmaker was informed by his dynamic and purposeful leadership and his modest contributions to grassroots development in Dekina/Biraidu Constituency, adding that within a short time, the lawmaker has demonstrated quality representation in the state Assembly.

The Chairman of the occasion, Comrade Umar Abdulatif, described Idoko as a humble, selfless and focused lawmaker, who has made the development of his constituency his utmost priority, urging the people to stand by him at all times. He also described the award conferred on the lawmaker as well deserved.
