The UNILORIN VC disclosed that a total number of 450 among the graduating students made first class honours.

University of Ilorin will this week be graduating a total number of 25, 234 of its students both at the first degree and post graduate levels at its 37th and 38th convocation ceremonies.
Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Ebewole, who briefed newsmen about the ceremonies said the graduating students comprise both those of the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic sessions.
He explained that 14,477 graduating students were involved in the 37th convocation which is of the 2020/2021 session and that there were 10, 757 students for the 38th convocation which is of the 2021/2022 session.
The Vice Chancellor disclosed that a total number of 450 among the graduating students made first class honours with 211 of them belonging to the 2020/2021 session and the remaining 239 being in the 2021/2022 session.

The UNILORIN VC said that at the post graduate level, 318 students in the 2021/2022 session would be bagging phDs awards while 197 of them were listed in the 2021/2022 session.
Egbewole said that the ceremonies would also feature commissioning of projects the university has just completed.
He said the projects would be commissioned by President Bola Tinubu who is the visitor to the university.
He listed the projects to include faculty of basic clinical science building, advancement centre building, department of anatomy building, faculty of engineering 400-seater capacity studio, asphalt overlay on existing road from university gate to Senate building (phase I&ii) and asphalt overlay on the existing road from the university main campus to the university’s teaching hospital UITH (phase v).
