Ugwuanyi’s former aide, Sheddy Ozoene, bags chieftaincy title in Enugu

Sheddy Ozoene, a former Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, has been honoured with a chieftaincy title by his Nsude community in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The journalist was conferred with the title, Odenigbo 1 of Nsude, last week by His Royal Highness Igwe George Onoh (DCP retd), the Agunecheibe III of Nsude.

The colourful ceremony, which was held at the Mission Field in Nsude, attracted several dignitaries in the state. Governor Ugwuanyi was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, Charles Egumgbe.

 A journalist by profession, Sheddy Ozoene was from 1999-2007 the Chief Press Secretary to former Governor James Ibori of Delta State. He is also the publisher of Abuja-based People&Politics magazine.

He was also the Editor of the PM News, an evening newspaper published in Lagos by the Independent Communications Network Limited. The company also published the weekly TheNEWS magazine and Tempo, a tabloid.

Chief Sheddy Ozoene was also the pioneer Editor of the defunct The Diet newspaper also published in Lagos.
