Imo State Police Command has dismissed the rumour of abduction of Uche Nwosu by kidnappers, saying he was arrested by its men

Contrary to earlier reports that Uche Nwosu, son-in-law to former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, was kidnapped by unknown assailants, the Imo State Police Command has dismissed the rumour, saying he was arrested by its men and not kidnappers as reported by some news outlets.
The former governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) was whisked away by men dressed in security uniforms after they stormed St. Peter’s Anglican Church Nkwere, Imo State.

Uche Nwosu had reportedly gone to the village for burial and according to eyewitnesses, was in the church when the officers stormed the vicinity in the middle of the service and started shooting into the air before taking him away.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Michael Abatam, However said the politician was arrested and not kidnapped

In his words: “Nwosu was arrested by the police, not kidnapped as insinuated in the social media. His arrest was in connection with a case that is under investigation.”
