Uche Jombo urges 50 Cent to let Nigerian actor play Hushpuppi’s role in his movie

Nollywood thespian, Uche Jombo has reached out to American rapper and businessman, Curtis James Jackson III, better known as 50 Cent, after he disclosed his plans for popular internet scammer, Ramon Abbas a.k.a Hushpuppi. 

On Monday, November 7, Hushpuppi was sentenced to 11 years in prison in the United States for money laundering schemes worth millions of dollars.

A United States District Judge, Otis D. Wright II, who delivered the sentence, said he would be spending only 9 years out of the 11 since he had already spent 2 years in jail. 

After the judgement, US music star, 50 Cent took to his Instagram page on Wednesday, November 9, to reveal that he was considering making a television series on the life of the Nigerian internet sensation.

In the caption of the post, the creator of G-Unit Records wrote: “For my scammers, I gotta do this one. Hushpuppi series coming soon! GLG, Green Light Gang I don’t miss. #Bransoncognac #lecheminduroi #gunitfilmandtv.”

Shortly after he made the now-viral post, Nigerians trooped to his IG comment section to react to his revelation that he is planning to make a movie about the Nigerian.

One of those who reacted to the post was popular Nollywood actress and Hushpuppi’s compatriot, Uche Jombo, who urged the American filmmaker to let a Nigerian play the lead character. 

The movie star politely suggested to 50 Cent to consider giving a Nigerian the opportunity to play the role of Hushpuppi in the series.  

She wrote: “Please give a Nigeria actor the opportunity to play this character.”
