Ubong king memorial U-15 boys/girls soccer competition, a shared dream, Unyime-Ivy Ubong King says

Wife of the Founder/ Chairman of Protection plus services, Amb. Dr. Unyime-Ivy King has said the legacy and dreams of her late husband Dr. Ubong King foundation and soccer competitions was a shared one which she hopes to keep perpetually.

Dr. Unyime-Ivy disclosed this at a media conference while answering questions on how she hoped to keep her late husband’s lagecy alive, “I don’t think that question is right because whatever lagecy or dreams my husband had was a shared one. We dreamt it together, unfortunately he had departed and one have to continue holding the dreams and legacies”.

Amb. Unyime-Ivy noted that her husband was passionate about grassroots soccer and sports in general and committed himself while alive in making sure that talented youths horn their talents which gave them employment to eke a living.

She said that following the untimely death of Dr Ubong King, numerous posthumous awards have been received in his honour for his passion aimed at bettering the lives of youths which was the founder’s passion.

However, at the press conference today in Lagos, Amb. Unyime-Ivy King beamed with joy when she was informed that the U-15 soccer competition is beginning to bear fruits as some of its products have started finding their way into various national teams and clubs abroad. She also highlighted Ubong King’s foundation plans in continuing the sponsorship of the 3rd edition of the U-15 boys and girls soccer competition planned to hold December 26th 2023.

She announced some innovations aimed at making the teens soccer competition a huge success among which is making funds available and also soliciting for more funds from friends and families for improved incentives.

“The foundation has been unstoppable, we are determined to continue the dreams and visions of a man who understood that the sky is wide enough to accommodate all stars, hence he guenuely cared for the success of them all”.

She stressed that at the grassroots level, youth talents are spotted, developed for greater exploit that would put the individual and nation in the limelight.”

Dr. Unyime-Ivy King assured that the Dr. Ubong King U-15 boys, girls soccer competition will continue but pleaded with friends and other stakeholders to appreciate the founder and late Chairman of the foundation Dr. Ubong King and donate for the progress of the competition.

Over 32 teams are already in various stages of the qualifications for the finals of the competition which would terminate on December 26th 2023 at the Legacy pitch National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

According to the organisers of the competition, prize monies and trophies for winners were presented with assurance that more innovations would be effected next year.

Winners, male and female would go home with trophies and cash prizes of N250.000, 2nd N200.000, 3rd N150.000, 4th N100.000.

Organisers assures of a hitch free competition with water tight screening that would deter over-age players and their agents from having a leeway in the competition.
