The list contains 87 advocate applicants and 11 academic applicants.

The Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and Secretary of the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee, Hajo Sarki Bello Esq. emphasized that the publication of the shortlisted applicants’ names does not indicate their success in the process.

The rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria is the highest professional rank in the Nigerian legal profession, equivalent to the rank of Queen’s Counsel in the United Kingdom. The conferment of the SAN rank is a recognition of the recipient’s distinguished legal career, outstanding contributions to the development of the law, and exemplary leadership in the legal profession.

The final list of successful applicants will be announced by the LPPC after a rigorous screening process, which includes an assessment of their professional competence, integrity, and contributions to the legal profession.
The conferment ceremony is expected to take place later this year.
