The prosecutor told the court that the offences committed by the two convicts, contravened Sections 11 (c) of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act Cap N30 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

Following the convicts plea of guilty, the prosecutor urged the court to sentence them according to the sections of the NDLEA Acts which they were charged with.

In his allocutus, counsel to the convicts, Prosper Oke Ojakovo pleaded with the court to tamper justice with mercy in sentencing his clients.

Ojakovo, in particular told the court that his clients are first time convicts who did not have previous record of conviction. He added that they are remorseful and have promised not to engage in crime if given second chance.

In his judgement, Justice Oweibo after listening to the submission of the prosecutor and the convicts’ counsel, sentenced both convicts to two years imprisonment each.
